2025 RAM 2500
The 2025 Ram 2500 brings some significant updates to its design and abilities. The front has been restyled with a fresh look and grille design, while its interior gets new technology, including larger screens and a digital gauge cluster. A more powerful Cummins diesel engine is available on all variants, resulting in faster acceleration.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
Standard equipment on the Tradesman trim includes black bumpers, steel wheels, and halogen headlights. The Big Horn has chrome accents on the bumpers and grille and 18-inch aluminum wheels. Off-road equipment, a unique grille, and black wheel arch moldings are added to the Power Wagon. The Laramie features LED headlights and taillights with chrome mirrors and door handles. The Rebel has black accents and unique 18-inch wheels. Western-themed details set the Limited Longhorn apart, while the Limited comes with body-colored bumpers and premium LED lighting.
Regular Cab, Crew Cab, and Mega Cab configurations are available with a 6-foot-4 short bed or an 8-foot long bed. All models have power-telescoping trailer tow mirrors and LED taillights.
Engine (Power)
The standard 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 gas engine delivers 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. The optional 6.7-liter Cummins High-Output Turbo-Diesel I-6 produces 430 horsepower and 1,075 pound-feet of torque, 70% more than the previous version. Both engines work with a new TorqueFlite HD eight-speed automatic transmission. Over 70% of heavy-duty truck buyers pick the diesel engine option, which is available on all trims except the Power Wagon. The transmission can handle full diesel engine torque in first gear. All models except the Power Wagon and Rebel come with rear-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive is standard on the latter and available on the other trims.
Performance
The 2025 Ram 2500 leads in heavy-duty truck capabilities. With the 6.7-liter Cummins engine and a fifth-wheel gooseneck hitch, it tows up to 36,610 pounds. The gas engine setup provides a maximum payload of 7,590 pounds. The new Cummins engine improves the truck's acceleration times, with the 2025 model boasting a 0-to-60 mph time of 6.9 seconds compared to the 2024 variant's 8 seconds.
Interior
The interior of the 2025 Ram 2500 combines technology with comfort. A 12.0-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen is standard, and a 14.5-inch screen is optional. The truck includes a 10.25-inch front passenger screen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Its features include dual wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and bed-mounted outlets providing 2.4 kW power output. A digital rearview mirror is optional.
The Laramie adds dual-zone automatic temperature control, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats, and eight-way power front seats. Premium quilted leather seating and 12-way power bucket seats are included on the Limited trim. The Tungsten model offers 24-way power front seats with a massage function, a suede headliner, and noise-canceling technology.
Safety Features
The 2025 Ram 2500 includes standard front automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning-plus. Additional safety features include lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and ParkSense front and rear park assist. The Ram also offers drowsy driver detection, traffic sign recognition, and a 360-degree surround-view camera. A trailer steering assist system is available for easier towing. Intersection collision assist and adaptive cruise control add to the safety features, making the Ram 2500 reliable for daily driving and heavy-duty work.
