A new Jeep is the perfect vehicle to take you on every adventure this summer, whether you enjoy hikes, bike rides, or any other outdoor activity. To help you get the most out of your new highly capable SUV, we’ve rounded up a list of our favorite day trips to make near Redford, MI.
1. Maybury State Park
For a breathtaking hike through nearly 1,000 acres of hardwood forest, gently rolling hills, and an open meadow, Maybury State Park at 49601 Eight Mile Road in Northville is an ideal place to spend the day. You can fold the rear seats down to load mountain bikes in the spacious cargo area of the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer if you’d rather ride the trails instead, and horseback riding is also available.
Young children will enjoy the accessible playground and the working farm, where the whole family can learn about the rural farming life of the early 1900s.
2. Belle Isle Park
Detroit may not be the first place you’d think to plan a day trip to immerse yourself in nature, but Belle Isle Park, located at 99 Pleasure Drive and surrounded by the Detroit River, is an island oasis within the city. This island park offers an aquarium, a conservatory, and recreational activities you can enjoy on your own or with a group.
There’s a designated swimming beach, which is great for cooling off on hot summer days, and paddling is also an option. If you prefer to enjoy the water without taking a dip, you can bring your fishing gear.
3. Algonac State Park
Enjoy a serene view of freighters traveling along the St Clair River when you visit Algonac State Park at 8732 River Road in Marine City. There’s also half a mile of riverfront to explore and over 1,200 acres of dedicated natural area that includes rare lake plain prairies and oak savannas where you can observe endangered plants, birds, and butterflies. In addition to hiking, biking, and running, available activities include archery and rifle/handgun shooting ranges.
4. River Raisin National Battlefield Park
If you’re a history buff or just want to expand your knowledge of the Battles of the River Raisin, River Raisin National Battlefield Park at 333 North Dixie Highway in Monroe is the only National Park Service unit dedicated to preserving the story of the War of 1812. You can spend the day exploring details of the intense conflict and its lasting impacts, plus there are eight miles of paved hiking and biking trails on the Heritage Trail.
