With every new Jeep comes not just the spirit of adventure and a vehicle ready for whatever the trail throws at you. Each new Jeep also comes with a high-tech, Uconnect Jeep infotainment system capable of keeping you connected as you explore the world. While your manual will have plenty of information on how to get started with Uconnect, as a Jeep dealer, it’s important to us that you have a great experience with your new car!

Connect Your Smartphone

One of the first things you should do with your Uconnect system is connect your smartphone. That will allow you to receive and reply to texts, make and receive calls hands-free, and stream audio from your device. And, if your vehicle supports it, you can also use Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to control your devices, using the classic “Hey Google” and “Hey Siri” commands seamlessly.

Use Voice Command for Hands-Free Control

You can access the Uconnect system without taking your hands off the wheel by using voice commands. Keep in mind, though, that if you want your Jeep to change music that’s streaming from your device, that device must be connected via USB port. Helpful command formats include:

  • “Tune to ninety-nine point five FM”
  • “Change source to Bluetooth”
  • “Play artist Beethoven” or “Play genre classical”
  • “Call John Smith”, “Redial”, and “Call Back”
  • “Set driver temperature to 72 degrees”

Don’t Forget to Set Up Your Wi-Fi

Compatible Jeeps have a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot built in! Activate your subscription, then tap the Apps icon on your Uconnect touchscreen, and manage the settings to your liking, including your network name and password.

Let Alexa Help

If your vehicle supports Alexa Built-in and you have the Wi-Fi Hotspot enabled, Alexa can be your co-pilot! Ask Alexa to stream your favorite playlist, check your calendar, or even add items to your shopping list if you think of a critical item mid-drive. You can also ask Alexa to start your vehicle from your device at home or from your smartphone, making sure your Jeep is ready for the road the moment you settle into the driver’s seat.

Make Sure to Get Vehicle Health Reports

Your new Jeep is one smart car! With the Wi-Fi hotspot enabled, your Jeep can send you monthly health reports, letting you know when it needs maintenance, current mileage, fuel status, and more. You can also access your Vehicle Health Report from your Jeep app.

If you’re not a current Jeep driver, or you’re looking to upgrade to a Jeep with the Uconnect system installed, stop by Snethkamp Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Redford, MI and discover what the happens when future of infotainment is built into a vehicle built for adventure.
