You’ll find plenty of fun community events to enjoy in Redford this fall. Mark your calendar for our six favorite picks.
1. 2nd Annual Handmade Holiday Market
Start your holiday shopping at this November 3 market, which will feature more than 55 vendors of handmade products. The event also includes raffles, concessions, and a coffee truck. The 2nd Annual Handmade Holiday Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Valentine Catholic Elementary School, located at 25875 Hope.
2. Veterans Day Ceremony
Honor those who served with VFW Post 345 on November 11. This Veterans Day ceremony takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. next to Township Hall on Elsinore and Beech Daly Rds.
3. Kids Night In: Star Wars
Bring kids of all ages to this fun event at the community center. Kids Night In will take place on November 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. In addition to showing Star Wars, instructors from Metro Michigan Martial Arts will lead fun games, martial arts drills, and contests. Themed costumes are welcome, and pizza and beverages will be served. The event costs $25 per child and $15 for each additional sibling. The community center is located at 12121 Hemingway.
4. Family Game Night: Left Center Right
This all-ages game night at the community center has a twist. You’ll be able to play classic games like Left Center Right with life-size pieces. Family Game Night will take place at 12121 Hemingway on November 22 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost $25 per adult couple, $10 per additional adult in the party, and $5 per child in the party.
5. Cat Yoga
Jump in your Jeep for the 11-mile drive to the Catfe Lounge at 686 Livernois in Ferndale, MI. This yoga practice will consist of mindful movement for all experience levels. As you enjoy the lesson, some of the Cafte’s resident felines may visit you on your mat. The event takes place on November 10 from 10 to 11 a.m. Tickets cost $20 per person.
6. Wayne County Lightfest
It’s just a 15-minute drive to Hines Park in Westland where you can check out Wayne County Lightfest starting November 21 from 6 to 10 p.m. It costs $5 cash per car to enter the Lightfest, where you’ll see more than 100,000 lights and 50 animated displays. Hines Park is located at 7651 N Merriman Rd. Lightfest is open Wednesday through Sunday until December 24.
